Two of the most beautiful golf courses in Arkansas are at our state parks: DeGray Lake Resort State Park in Bismark and Village Creek State Park in Wynne. Spending the day enjoying the lush greens and beautiful natural surroundings is an experience familiar to golfers. However, you don’t need to know the difference between a 9-iron and a pitching wedge to join in on the fun.

Fling Golf is a cross between lacrosse and traditional golf. Players use a “fling stick” to toss the ball down the course and eventually putt it in. This new game is easier to learn than traditional golf and much less expensive. State park visitors can rent a stick for FREE and just pay the green fees. It would be a great part of a family weekend getaway.

For those of you who enjoy the comfort of a hotel, DeGray Lake Resort State Park Lodge is for you. After a round of fling golf you can eat at the delicious Shoreline Restaurant and retire to your room. For those of you who like a more rustic experience, the cabins at Village Creek will be right up your alley. Either way, working in a game of fling golf will be a memory making experience!
