Area Information

In addition to fishing, picnic areas, and trails, Petit Jean State Park also has outdoor tennis courts with lights, a volleyball court, the nearby popular Museum of Automobiles, an airport for fly-in camping, and a large open grassy field near the swimming pool.

The Museum of Automobiles is a privately-owned museum showcasing antique and classic cars. Open throughout the year, the museum is on Ark. 154 just east of the park.

Petit Jean State Park Airport is open for daytime use only and features one of the few fly-in camping areas in the country. Choose from five tent sites with electricity and water. For information about the airport or these tent sites, call: 501-374-5022.

Winthrop Rockefeller Institute, a 188-acre campus that is part of the University of Arkansas System and was once part of the home and cattle farm of Governor Winthrop Rockefeller, is also located on Petit Jean Mountain. Explore the historic grounds and gardens, enjoy the weekday lunch buffet at the River Rock Grill, browse the unique gift ship, and explore the exhibit gallery and learn about the remarkable legacy of its namesake. The Institute is located a short drive from the park at 1 Rockefeller Drive.

Barnyard Friends and Stables east of the park offers a petting zoo, pony rides, horseback trail rides, hayrides, birthday parties, field trips, and other activities. Open throughout the year (closed on Mondays). It is located at 110 Jones Lane (off Ark. 154).
