Petit Jean Accommodations
Campgrounds and Camping Choices
Camping is a popular activity here at Petit Jean State Park. Choose your favorite of Arkansas' four seasons and enjoy a weekend getaway or up to a two-week vacation. Bring your own tent or RV, or rent a park YURT. Choose from wooded or lake view sites. Pull-through or back-in campsites are available. The campsites are minutes away from all the other activities to be enjoyed here in the natural beauty of Petit Jean Mountain. Call 501-727-5441 for more information or to make reservations.
The campgrounds feature a total of 125 campsites (including 26 pull-through sites). Thirty-five of the sites—the Class AAA sites—have 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer hookups. The 90 Class B sites offer 30 amp electrical and water hookups. All sites are reservable. Campsites are divided into four campground areas. Each includes a modern bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets. Area "A" is near Lake Bailey and include sites along the lakeshore. Areas "B," "C," and "D" are located on the south side of Ark. 154 in wooded settings.
Other campsite choices in the main camping area include a 44-unit Rally-style Area with 20 amp electrical service available for camping clubs. Also, we are now offering reservations in the Overflow Camping Area. We do ask that you please call the park to make a reservation in this area. Reminder there are no picnic tables, fire rings, or charcoal grills available at the overflow campsites. The overflow sites offer 30 amp electrical and water hookups. Also, there are no ground fires allowed in this area.
A trailer dump station is centrally located near the Rally-style camping area.
West of the main campgrounds in a separate area near Lake Roosevelt, the park's smaller lake, is the park's reservable Group Camp area. Available throughout the year, it includes a heated bathhouse.
For those who don't own camping equipment, the park offers four Rent-A-YURTs available year-round. The YURTs are round, high-walled tents with electricity, screened windows, and doors with locks. The rental includes cots, a lantern, stove, and ice chest. Each YURT accommodates up to six persons.
Petit Jean is Arkansas' only state park with its own airport. Aviation enthusiasts are invited to enjoy the airport’s fly-in campground which features five tent sites with water and electric hookups, picnic tables, grills, lantern holders, and tent pads. One site is barrier-free to accommodate visitors with disabilities. This Arkansas camping site includes a modern bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets. For details and to make reservations at Arkansas' only fly-in tent sites, call the visitor center at 501-727-5441.
