Preserve your memories and experiences in the great outdoors in a journal. Meet a park interpreter outside the Lake Center to make your own journal and learn some outdoor journaling tips. All materials are provided. This program lasts 45 minutes.

A Simple Stick

Meet a park interpreter to discover how a hiking stick can make your hike safer, enjoyable, and more memorable. We will discuss proper sizing, primary and secondary uses for a hiking stick, and how to personalize your stick for comfort and safety. Meet at the overlook.

Paracord Skills with Hike

What if you were lost in the wilderness without food, water, or shelter? What if you always had a tool on hand to help you? Paracord can be the answer and is an invaluable tool in any outdoor person's kit. Join a park interpreter to learn some of the basics of survival, make your paracord keychain

Fish Name Game

Want to brush up on your fish ID skills? Join a park interpreter outside the visitor center to play the Fish Name Game. We will learn what features can help you identify different fish, then put our new ID skills to the test during the game. This program is fun for the whole family.

What's the Catch?

Why do some fish prefer different bait than others? Meet a park interpreter to
discover how fish use their senses to navigate their underwater world and find food. We will
make a paper fish craft, all while uncovering the secret superpower of a
