Lake Catherine State Park

Hiking to waterfalls is a great way to get out into nature and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. It can be a calming and peaceful experience, or an adrenaline-filled adventure depending on how you approach it. You can get some great exercise and fresh air, and you may even spot some wildlife along the way. The sound of a rushing waterfall is also incredibly soothing, and the sight of cascading water is awe-inspiring. Plus, it's a great way to take some beautiful photos and make lasting memories. Most of our waterfalls are rainfall dependent so make sure you go check them out after a good rain! You can always call the park directly and ask before you go. 


Cedar Falls at Petit Jean State Park

Cedar Falls is a breathtaking waterfall located in Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas. The falls are located on the edge of a rocky cliff, cascading down over 95 feet into the valley below. The water is crystal clear and the surrounding forest provides a peaceful setting for visitors to enjoy the beauty of the falls. Hikers will descend the 2-mile round trip trail into the valley before heading to the foot of the falls. Be warned, the rocky drop is steep on the way down, and tricky coming back up. Cedar Falls is a great way to experience the beauty of Petit Jean State Park and the surrounding area.


Cossatot Falls at Cossatot River State Park-Natural Area

Cossatot Falls is a popular attraction located within the Cossatot River State Park-Natural Area in southwestern Arkansas. It is a series of waterfalls and rapids that span over a half-mile of the Cossatot River and is considered one of the most scenic spots in the state. The falls are a playground for experienced kayakers and canoeists.


Devil's Den State Park

Devil's Den State Park has a rich history involving its caves and waterfalls, known to be a hideout for soldiers during the Civil War and rumored to be a place for moonshiners during the prohibition era. Hikers don't have to travel far for views of cascading falls that occasionally pool into perfect swimming holes for visitors.


Fall Creek Falls at Lake Catherine State Park

The Falls Branch Falls at Lake Catherine State Park in Arkansas is a series of cascading waterfalls that is a popular spot for swimming and picnicking. The falls are located on the west side of the lake, just upstream from the dam. The falls cascade over a series of rocks and boulders, creating a beautiful waterfall and a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The water is generally cold and clear, making it a great spot for a refreshing dip. Visitors can access the falls by taking the Falls Branch Trail, a short, easy hike. There is also a swimming area and picnic area at the base of the falls.


Mount Nebo State Park

For a truly beautiful, picturesque, and unique waterfall, head to Mount Nebo State Park. Nebo Falls is accessible from 1.9. -mile Lizard Tail trailhead. The path is moderate for hikers, or mountain bikers can take on the difficult and technical biking trail. The steep, rocky terrain of the trail makes it a great choice for an adventurous hike. The trail also passes through a small cave and across a wide variety of terrain. The waterfall is surrounded by lush vegetation and is a great spot for swimming, fishing, and picnicking.


Woolly Hollow State Park

The Huckleberry Trail at Woolly Hollow State Park in Arkansas is a 3.5-mile loop trail located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. The trail is full of scenic views and diverse wildlife, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll or a more challenging hike. Aside from the flora and fauna hikers can spot, there is also a stunning spillway particularly active after a good rain. The trail is easy to navigate, with well-marked paths and signs providing directions. The trail is open year-round, so visitors can enjoy the beauty of the park in any season.
