campsite in our tent relay, learn how long trash really sticks around in
nature, and practice building the perfect campfire structure – no flames
needed, just creativity</p>

<p>Think you’re ready to hit the trail? Drop by the weigh-in pavilion for
the Hiking Challenge! Test your hiking smarts at three fun drop-in stations
where you’ll figure out the 10 Essentials every hiker should know, identify
animal tracks from common trail companions, and use a simple dichotomous key</p>

There are tales that people used to see mountain boomers on Pinnacle Mountain, but what exactly is a mountain boomer? Is it a reptile or amphibian of sorts, could it be a snake or a frog? Join a park interpreter to find out!

Join us on Hooray for Herpetology Weekend at Pinnacle Mountain State Park as we delve into what to do when you encounter a snake on the trails or in your campsite or yard. Learn ways to identify some of Arkansas' common species and discover the important roles that they play in our neighborhood

Lake Dardanelle State Park is home to variety of wildlife, but do you ever wonder just what there is out there in the river? Are there snakes, is that a snapping turtle? Join a park interpreter in the visitor center kids' corner to learn the reptiles of the river.

Join us for Feathered Flyers Weekend, as we use binoculars at the River View Center Overlook to identify the birds soaring around us over the Maumelle and Arkansas Rivers! You can bring your own binoculars or camera if you wish, or we will have some loaners available first-come, first-serve.
