This class is about keeping healthy naturally as we go about our daily lives. We will discuss these herbs and how to use them as we pass them around and we will taste simple infusions of most of them to familiarize you with their flavor and how to prepare them.

Some of these herbs might be familiar to you and we can harvest them from the Heritage Herb Garden. Others are leaves, roots or berries that have been used for centuries by herbalists from around the world. We will examine each one of these healing botanicals for identification, discuss their healing properties and taste them in infusions, syrups or tinctures.

We will cover herbs used as:

~ adaptogens (for stress & anxiety)

~ nervines (support the nervous system)

~ tonics (herbs that help tonify the body used for preventative maintenance)

~ anti-inflammatory herbs

Each student will make an herbal tea blend, and herbal syrup and a tincture to take home.

Bring an apron, to-go mug or drinking jar and a sturdy basket or box to carry your goodies home. I will provide handouts, however you might bring a notebook.

Pre-registration is required.

Class minimum is 3 and maximum is 10.
