Discover the Yancopin Bridge First Day Hike

Start 2026 on a journey to the refurbished Yancopin Bridge on a easy 3-mile hike with a park interpreter lasting 2 hours. We will meet at the Watson trailhead and then caravan in your own vehicles to a spot near the bridge. From there, we will hike on a gravel surface trail into the deep Delta forests leading to the bridge and out on it above the river. The bridge provides outstanding views of the Arkansas River and surrounding forests. Few people have crossed this bridge since trains operated on it, and this is your chance to be one of the first to experience it since it has been refurbished. Registration is required by calling the park no later than December 31st at (870) 572-2352. Please bring drinking water, snacks, insect repellant, and sunscreen. Wear footwear you are comfortable hiking in and dress to be outdoors in the cold. Note that it usually feels colder when on the bridge because of the wind. #FirstDayHikes
