Community Square Dance

Stop by the Ozark Folk Center's 1,000-seat indoor music venue, Ozark Highlands Theater, and enjoy this timeless Ozarks tradition from 7-9 p.m., weather permitting. Admission is free and on-lookers welcome! 

Community dances usually occur on the first/third Thursday of each month through October, but please check the list of dates below. Dance music is performed by a talented group of local Ozarks musicians on the first Thursday of each month. 

If you'd like to learn to square dance and join in the fun, let one of our dance callers know and they will work you into a square dance with other experienced dancers. NOTE: Square dances involve a few different patterns and hand-turns that dancers need to know. Dances commonly include participants of varying ages but is usually too complicated for children under 8 years-old.
