Birding Basics and Hike Workshop: Barton

Meeting Place: Visitor Center
Admission: Free
Birding can seem overwhelming to start. Guidebooks have pages and pages of birds that can be frequently hard to distinguish. Here is your chance to learn the basics and get you well on the way to discovering birds that thrive along Delta Heritage Trail. Your journey will start at the visitor center where a park interpreter we will cover some practical techniques to building your bird identification list. Then we will get out on the trail for a one-mile hike on a gravel surface trail lasting about 45 minutes with a park interpreter to experience the flush of spring birds. Bring binoculars, drinking water, insect repellant, sunscreen and dress to be outdoors, including footwear you are comfortable hiking.
