The Monument Trails at Pinnacle Mountain State Park are built with the latest technology to improve ride enjoyment and sustainability. These new trails also take you to places never before accessible in the park. While these trails are optimized for mountain biking, all but a few are open to hiking and trail running. Below is the current list of Monument Trails at Pinnacle Mountain. Links in the descriptions will take you to various trail map applications that can give you more information and GPS location when using a GPS-enabled smartphone. (Trailforks or MTBProject) Any fees attributed to these services are the responsibility of the user. Also, remember that all older hiking trails in the park are still open to hiking only.
Jackfork - 4.59 miles - (Green Circle) Jackfork has a bit of everything, fast, flowy downhills, well build climbs, alternate lines with jumps, gaps, and drops. Access at the Visitor Center parking lot or the Lower Mountain Trailhead. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Jackfork Extension - 0.45 miles - (Blue square) This extension provides an alternative downhill on the riverside of Jackfork with some more technical features such as a "diving board" drop and a technical rock section. During the winter expect great views of the Big Maumelle and Arkansas Rivers. (Maps available at Trailforks)
Coachwhip Loop - 2.23 miles - (Green Circle) Also known as the NICA (National Interscholastic Cycling Association) loop. This trail was designed as a beginner ride with a few alternate rock features and berms to help riders improve their skills. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Coachwhip Connector - 0.16 miles - (Green Circle) - This is a quick connector between Coachwhip Loop and the lower parking lot. An easy uphill and a fun, fast, flowy ride down to the parking lot. (Maps available at Trailforks)
Centipede - 0.60 miles - (Green Circle) This is the climbing trail to get to the various downhill trails on Middle Mountain. It has a lot of switchbacks but is an overall and easy climb. Access from Middle Mountain Trailhead. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Logging Road - 0.64 miles - (Green Circle) This is the easiest of the Middle Mountain downhill lines and is the only one that is two-way giving riders an alternative to climb back to the top from Coachwhip Loop. (Maps available at Trailforks)
Armadillo Run - 0.52 miles - (Green Circle) Downhill direction and bikes only. If you've always wanted to try a downhill trail, this is where you start. Fun and fast with bermed turns. Access from the top of Centipede. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Middle Mountain Run - 0.46 miles - (Green Circle with Blue Square) Downhill direction and bikes only. A beginner downhill with a bit more technical features from Armadillo Run with steeper berms and more rollers. Access from the top of Centipede. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Carnasaw - 0.39 miles - (Black Diamond) A technical rock section at the top with large jumps and berms at the bottom, this downhill trail is for experienced mountain bikers only.(Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Lower Stick - 0.38 miles - (Green Circle) This is the return trail for the downhill trails from both Mountains and Jackfork. It can be accessed from the Lower Mountain and Middle Mountain trailheads. It also connects to the Upper Stick to return to the Upper Mountain parking area. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Upper Stick - 0.33 miles - (Green Circle with Blue Square) This trail connects the Lower Stick and Middle Mountain parking to the Jackfork/Upheaval hub and Upper Mountain parking. It has some mandatory rock gardens. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Upheaval - 0.31 miles - (Green Circle) This is the easiest, quickest way to get to the hub at the top of the Fulk Mountains to gain access to Twistflower and Turkey Track downhills plus the middle section of Jackfork. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Turkey Tracks - 0.45 miles - (Blue Square with Black Diamond) Downhill direction and bikes only. This trail has numerous rock gardens, steep sections, and black alternative lines. Access from Upheaval or Jackfork. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Glade Runner - 0.43 miles - (Black Diamond) Downhill direction and bikes only. the trail splits off Turkey Tracks and includes rock features and mandatory jumps. The trail ends at the Lower Stick near the lower parking area. Access is from Upheaval - Turkey Tracks. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Twistflower - 0.53 miles - (Blue Square) Downhill direction and bikes only. An intermediate downhill with forced rock gardens and rock rides with drops and jumps. The trail finishes with some berms and a tabletop. Access from Upheaval or Jackfork. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Dynamite - 1.43 miles - (Blue Square) A mountain bike playground with various features including jumps, challenging rock sections, big views, and fast flow. Access this trail from the Jackfork Trail. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
River Trail Connector - 0.14 miles - (Green Circle) This is a short connector that allows those visiting the trails via bike or walking on the Arkansas River Trail to enter the trail system at the park sign on Pinnacle Valley Road. There is no vehicle parking at this trailhead. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Arboretum Connector - 0.64 miles - (Green Circle) This trail connects the park Arboretum with Coachwhip Connector near the lower parking lot. It follows the Little Maumelle River (visible in the winter) and crosses Pinnacle Valley Road. The Arboretum parking lot amenities include a portable bathroom, picnic tables, and access to the Arboretum Trail (Foot Traffic Only). (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
Bobcat Way - 0.72 miles (Green Circle) This trail is a loop going up the mount on the northwest side of Coachwhip. The recommended flow is clockwise. Be prepared for some fairly steep climbing and a quick downhill. (Maps available at Trailforks or MTBProject)
