Nature's Night Lights

<p>Discover what glows in the dark on Crowley’s Ridge. Join&nbsp;a park interpreter to learn about the types of night lights nature has to offer. This&nbsp;hike will only be a short section of the trail. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, insect repellent, and bring a flashlight. </p><br>

Planting Day

<p>Clean up and plant an herb garden. We will sow seeds from the past as we recreate a “Kitchen Garden” near our summer kitchen exhibit. Children will also be given their own special biodegradable planting pots to take home with soil and planted seeds. Wear plenty of sunscreen and bring water</p>

Reptiles of Moro Bay

Join park staff and explore the world of some of Moro Bay State Park’s most common reptiles and have an opportunity to meet a live one.

Woodland Wander

Join a park interpreter and wander along the Bear Creek Lake Nature Trail to search out a variety of wildlife and plants. This hike is 1-mile in length. Wear sturdy shoes or boots, bring water, and don’t forget your insect repellent.<br><br><br><br>

Brews, Views, and Bonfires

Awaken your senses and ignite your spirit with Mississippi River State Park's campfire and coffee. Join a park interpreter for a cozy and invigorating retreat where the simplicity of nature meets the comfort of shared stories and steaming cups. This is a come and go program while supplies last. 

Campfire Treats and Trivia

<p>Evenings&nbsp;are often a good time for a quick orientation to the park. Join a park&nbsp;interpreter to earn a sweet prize and to test your knowledge of the natural&nbsp;world around you! Supplies are limited to a first-come, first-served basis.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><br>

Guided Nature Hike

Meet at the Deer Run trailhead near the playground. Join a park ranger for an easy hike on the park trail through a mixed pine/hardwood forest. We will learn how to identify some trees, discover those with special uses. There may even be some you can taste if you want. <br>

Girl Scouts Love State Parks: Delta Woodlands Trail Hike

<p>At Lake Chicot State Park, girl scouts can explore a remnant of nature that was once a much bigger part of the greater Arkansas Delta region by hiking the Delta Woodlands Trail. This short, paved, 1-mile hike ventures through habitat for many species of plants and animals that live at Lake Chicot</p>
