Join a park interpreter as we learn the ins and outs of backpacking and long-distance hiking. This workshop will cover topics such as how to plan a route, proper outdoor ethics to follow, what to pack (and what not to!), how to properly distribute weight in a backpack, water purification and food
It is not uncommon to catch a glimpse of the undertakers of Petit Jean State Park soaring over our cliffs. Join a park interpreter to investigate the life and habits of a vulture and see if we can spot a few. Bring your binoculars if you have them, or borrow a pair from us.
Petit Jean State Park is located on mountain of legends, and it is our delight to share them with you. Gather around the campfire with a park interpreter to take in the evening ambience and a little local folklore. Bring a camp chair if you like, though seating is provided.

fish! This program is a 1-hour long introduction to fly fishing that will inspire
you to pick up a rod and give it a go! Fly fishing equipment is provided.<b> </b></p>
Join the park interpreters at the visitor center meeting room to sample a 5-layer Dutch oven country breakfast. If you are allergic to Dutch ovens, sausage, hash browns, eggs, cheddar cheese, biscuits, or seasonings, that would be terrible. The park interpreters have the recipe.
Another year, another BINGO game! The park interpreters will be awaiting your arrival for this fun evening of BINGO, a little joking, and prizes! Bingo will be at the visitor center meeting room and last about one hour.
