Meeting Place: Tinkering Studio in the Museum Building
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Toasters and vacuum cleaners. Refrigerators and radios. What are all of these new inventions? That is what some people thought during the 1920s, as they saw the times changing. Let's explore a little bit of the Roaring 20s, when new technology like electrical appliances redefined daily life. Design electrical circuits both with and without switches using recycled materials. Tinker with circuits to power different objects, such as LEDs, recycled holiday lights, etc. Build and experiment like a scientist. Then, dig into history. How quickly can you find the photos on the scavenger hunt? Can you find them all before time is up? Learn about some of the appliances found in a 1920s home compared to the homes of today, as we search around the museum. If there are any questions, please contact the museum at (870) 725-2877.
