Now in its 22nd year, Park Day is a nationwide volunteer effort enabling history buffs and preservationists from across the country to team up with the American Battlefield Trust, the History Channel, Keep Arkansas Beautiful, and Arkansas State Parks to help clean and restore America’s hallowed grounds. Volunteers will gather at registered sites to participate in activities ranging from sign painting to trail building, while learning more about the significance of the destination. Additionally, remember that these Civil War battlefields and historic sites are memorials to the service and sacrifice of America’s military men and women – both then and now. During our event, we will recognize the veterans in our community who have honorably served their country. At the conclusion of the cleanup, each participant will receive a t-shirt and a grilled hot dog lunch in thanks for their hard work in helping preserve Arkansas's historic sites, and keeping Jacksonport State Park beautiful. Registration in advance is appreciated but not required.
