Outdoor Skills Series: Basic Tracking and Identification

Learn to read the signs animals leave behind with this hands-on tracking program led by a park interpreter. Participants will explore the trails of Lake Chicot State Park to identify tracks, scat, trails and other clues left by local wildlife. This program teaches the fundamentals of tracking, including recognizing different species, understanding animal behavior, and interpreting the story each track tells. By the end, you’ll gain skills to observe wildlife more closely and connect more deeply with the natural world around you.
