Monarch Health Hike

Meeting Place: Playground Parking Lot
Every year, monarch butterflies migrate through Arkansas in mid-October to return to their breeding grounds in Mexico. These lively bursts of color are always a delight to see on a hike or in your garden, but they are in danger of disease. Join the park interpreter for a guided hike through the park and along the Delta Woodlands Trail. This is a catch, record, and release project to monitor the health of the monarchs that migrate through Lake Chicot State Park. Supplies are provided. Enclosed shoes, insect repellant, sunscreen, and water recommended.
