Join us as we remember American folksinger and songwriter John Prine (1946-2020) during a tribute concert on Saturday, June 8th at the Ozark Folk Center's 1,000-seat music venue, Ozark Highlands Theater. Enjoy a memorable evening of songs and stories by John's son, Tommy Prine, who released his debut album in 2023 and long-time friend and 10x multi-platinum songwriter, Keith Sykes.

John Prine in Mountain View:
In 1960, John performed for his first audience at a local fishing resort near the White River in Mountain View. He was just 14 years-old, but he liked the quaint old-fashioned town and its close-knit community. John returned often, usually with friends; sometimes multiple times a year. He enjoyed fishing the river, playing music, and spending time with friends and fellow songwriters. He was known for being kind and generous with his time and never passed the opportunity to tell a good joke. Over the years, John made a lasting impression on locals in Mountain View - including musicians and staff at the Ozark Folk Center.

In 2021, John's ashes floated down the White River, along with roses, placed by friends who knew him. Today, we keep John's songs in our hearts and on our stages. We look forward to honoring John's legacy along with his family, friends, and fellow admirers at the Ozark Folk Center on June 8.
