The History of Lake Sylvia with Guest Speaker - Timothy Nutt

Meeting Place: Ogden Hall (Camp Ouachita Historic Site)
3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Join the Max Milam Library and our esteemed guest speaker, Timothy Nutt, in exploring the rich history of Lake Sylvia and Camp Ouachita! Tim Nutt is a Director and Professor at UAMS Historical Research Center and has deep knowledge of Lake Sylvia and the surrounding area. At this event, in a lecture format, you'll learn about Camp Ouachita's origin story and its Girl Scouts heritage. The presentation will be held in the iconic Ogden Hall, an aesthetic focal point of the site. Expect about an hour-long presentation. After, we will offer a short walk to view the Girl Scout Camp ruins and renovated cabins. If you participate in this walk, make sure to wear good walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. This event is a wonderful opportunity for guests to learn about Arkansas' heritage. Lake Sylvia looks forward to hosting you and our amazing guest speaker, Timothy Nutt!
