Hands-On History: Derricks, Pumping Units and Dinosaurs

Meeting Place: Museum Auditorium
10:00 am - 11:00 am
Admission: Free
What is a derrick? What about a walking beam? And what do dinosaurs have to do with gasoline pumps? Find out the answers to these questions, as we explore the museum's galleries and learn about the machinery of the oil boom. Then make your own derrick, pumping unit or gasoline pump using a variety of materials such as craft sticks, cardstock, markers, colored pencils, tape and glue. This program is designed for children ages 6-12, but all are welcome. Adults are required to remain with their child for the program. Please call (870) 725-2877 to reserve a place for your child in the program.
