Great American Cleanup: Trash Trek on the Cove Shoreline
Join a park interpreter for an exciting off-trail adventure behind the cove at Lake Dardanelle State Park, part of the Great American Cleanup in partnership with Keep Arkansas Beautiful. We’ll be picking up trash while exploring rugged, wooded terrain. This hike will take us through uneven and moderately strenuous paths, offering a great opportunity to connect with nature and help keep the park clean. Be prepared to duck under low-hanging branches and navigate through brush. Closed-toed shoes, long pants, and weather-appropriate clothing are required. Be sure to bring water, insect repellent, and sun protection, and if you have them, gloves and an extended trash grabber. As we’ll be off the beaten path, be prepared for potential encounters with snakes and ticks. This hike is not recommended for children under 6. We will meet at the front desk of the visitor center.
