Girl Scouts Love State Parks 2025: Bird Survey Hike
Meeting Place: Day Use Area
Join a park interpreter to learn what it means to be a Citizen Scientist and why it's important. Learn about birds commonly found at Lake Sylvia then set off on a bird survey hike! On this hike, you will learn how to identify birds and use apps and data tracking websites to make it easier. After going on this hike, you will have helped gather useful data for scientists! The hike will take place on the 0.8-mile moderate Lake Sylvia Loop Trail and will be taken at a slow pace. Make sure to bring water, wear good hiking shoes, and bring binoculars if you have them. This program will help Girl Scouts complete the Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, or Senior: Journey - Think Like A Citizen Scientist badge. Registration is required by September 13 for this program. Please contact the visitor center at (501) 868-5806 to sign up! Upon doing so, let staff know what event you will attend at Lake Sylvia Recreation Area. #GSLoveStateParks
