First Day Sunrise Hike on the West Summit Trail

Start off your New Year's resolutions right by joining a park interpreter at the West Summit trailhead to depart on a guided hike up to the summit of Pinnacle Mountain! Experience 360-degree views of the Arkansas River Valley, Lake Maumelle, the Maumelle and Arkansas rivers, and the foothills of the Ouachita Mountain range as we watch sunrise from the highest elevation in the park. Make sure to bring a headlamp or flashlight, water, and wear sturdy shoes; this is a strenuous trail. This hike is part of a national celebration taking place in all 50 state park systems today to celebrate healthy parks and healthy people for the new year. #FirstDayHikes
