First Day Hike

Step off on the right foot this year at Lake Ouachita State Park for our First Day Hikes! Lake Ouachita State Park and the Ouachita Mountain Hikers will host this year's event at the Caddo Bend Trailhead. Three hikes of varying difficulty will be offered. All hikes will be lead by a guide and will start at 9 a.m. Be sure to bring water, hiking shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing. After hiking, enjoy warm drinks, snacks and conviviality with other hikers at the trailhead bonfire until noon. #FirstDayHikes
 
 Hiking options:
 Green route - Join us for a leisurely 2-mile hike along the Caddo Bend Trail, where you will see lakeside views of the Lake Ouachita and come back along the gravel service road.

 Blue route - Enjoy this 3-mile hike to the photogenic Point 50 overlook. This route goes 1.5 miles down the trail before returning on the service road.

 Yellow route - If you prefer to get your steps in, hike the complete Caddo Bend loop. This is a strenuous 4-mile loop along the westward park peninsula.
