Cheese and butter making have long been effective ways to preserve milk and for the families of tenant farmers and sharecroppers, selling cheese and butter to the local general store was a reliable method of earning more income. Join park staff to learn more about this survival skill turned fine art in this beginner-friendly class. In this workshop, staff will demonstrate how to make simple cheeses like ricotta and paneer, as well as butter and ghee, or clarified butter. Participants will have opportunities for taste-testing throughout the class. Space is limited and registration is required by April 25.
