Bats aren't blind, they won’t get stuck in your hair—and they’re some of nature’s most important nighttime hunters! Join a park interpreter for a short, guided hike to uncover the truth about these fascinating, misunderstood creatures. Along the way, we’ll explore how local bats hunt using echolocation, what they eat, and the vital role they play in keeping insect populations in check. As twilight falls, we’ll keep our eyes on the sky and ears open for bat activity overhead. Bring insect repellent, a flashlight, and your curiosity! This program is great for families and anyone who wants to bust myths and meet the real bats of Lake Chicot State Park.
