Arkansas River Kayak Cleanup
The Arkansas River and Lake Dardanelle provide a spectacular setting for both wildlife and people to live in and enjoy. Volunteers are needed to clean our local waterways to keep them healthy. Join forces with Lake Dardanelle State Park for the Arkansas River Cleanup to make an impact and keep the area a beloved place to both live in and visit.
The park has a limited number of kayaks available that can be reserved for the cleanup by calling (479) 967-5516 (must be 12 or older, minors must have an adult). Volunteers are welcome to bring their own boats as well. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the visitor center, and we will launch boats at 9 a.m. at the kayak beach. Supplies will be provided. Please wear clothing you don’t mind getting wet and bring water, sun protection, and insect repellent. Volunteers are also encouraged to pick up litter along the shorelines as well. Use of park kayaks is dependent on river conditions.
