Archeological Excavation: Piecing Together History

Meeting Place: Visitor Center
11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Plum Bayou Mounds Archeological State Park will host an archeological excavation during the first two weeks of June, and you’re invited! During this program, we will have a few artifacts found during the actual excavation happening on site this week for you to see. Pottery is an important piece of the puzzle to solve the story of the Plum Bayou people. Join a park interpreter to learn what archeologists do with the pottery they find here and how it helps us piece together the story of the Plum Bayou people. Then become an archeologist yourself, sort pottery sherds, and piece them together to solve the pottery puzzle. See other calendar entries for guided and self-guided program opportunities related to the archeological excavation.
