America 250 First Day Hike

Step into the New Year on the right foot with time outdoors and start America’s 250th adorned in red, white and blue with a 2.5-mile stroll on one of The Natural State’s scenic state park trails. #FirstDayHikes

Begin your healthy lifestyle resolution by adventuring outside with a guided hike on the Delta View Trail at Cane Creek State Park. Join park staff at Pavilion 2 to kick off 2026 with jotting down your new year’s resolutions. Before hitting the trails: dress in layers appropriate for the weather, wear comfortable footwear, pack the drinking water, and feel free to bring binoculars. Two hikes to choose from on New Year's Day and no registration required. Pets are welcome but must be on a leash. End of the hike will yield a campfire and hot beverages for cold hikers, and don’t forget your FDH sticker! Explore the outdoors and enjoy nature, bring the family or a friend and start a new year tradition! #FirstDayHikes
