Arkansas State Parks remain open as we monitor COVID-19 and the impact of coronavirus in our state. Access to certain park facilities is limited. We are taking the CDC’s recommended precautions as we work to provide a safe environment for our guests.
Parks continue to be your gateway to hiking, kayaking and canoeing, golf, mountain biking, fishing and boating, and other outdoor experiences.

Effective July 20, 2020, Governor Asa Hutchinson issued a mandatory mask mandate for residents and visitors in Arkansas. Everyone will be required to wear masks in public spaces to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. https://governor.arkansas.gov/images/uploads/executiveOrders/EO_20-43.pdf
Lodges, cabins, camper cabins, YURTs, Rent-A-RV, restaurants, marinas, golf pro shops, retail shops, and exhibitions are open. Some restrictions will be in place. Physical distancing will be enforced. Please call the park directly for facility hours, as some may be limited.
Reservations at lodges, cabins, YURTs, and Rent-A-RVs are will be managed to allow a rest period in between guests for thorough cleanings.
Interpretive Programming
To protect our guests and staff, scheduled programming is canceled until further notice. This includes special events, tours, guided hikes, workshops, day camps, school groups, and other programs. This includes the closure of historic or other buildings used exclusively for interpretive programming.
Day-Use Visitors
Our park day-use areas remain free to enter and enjoy.
One of the benefits of the outdoors is the opportunity to find solitude and relaxation while hiking, running, paddling, biking, fishing, boating, or wildlife watching. We are taking the recommended precautions from the CDC to maintain clean and sanitary public spaces.
Lodges, Cabins, and Group Lodging
All lodges, cabins, camper cabins, YURTs, and Rent-A-RVs are managed to allow a rest period in between guests for thorough cleanings. Cloth face-coverings or masks must be worn in public spaces within lodges. Group lodging is currently closed. If your reservation has to be canceled, any cancellation fees will be waived and/or deposits refunded.
Campgrounds
Camping is open.
Restaurants
Park restaurants are currently open at Mount Magazine, DeGray Lake Resort, Petit Jean, Queen Wilhelmina, and Historic Washington State Parks with limited seating and hours. Diners must wear a cloth face-covering or mask until served.
Golf Course and Marina Guests
Marinas are open with limited occupancy. Guests must wear a cloth face-covering or mask when inside marinas. Some may be closed due to staff shortages and have limited hours. Please call the park for hours.
The Ridges at Village Creek Golf Course is open by reservation only. No online reservations are allowed at this time. Please contact the pro shop at 870-238-5226. The pro shop is open with limited hours and access. Guests must wear a cloth face-covering or mask inside the building. Cart rentals are cleaned and sanitized between rentals.
The golf course at DeGray Lake Resort State Park is open. The pro shop is open with limited hours and guests must wear a cloth face-covering or mask inside the building. Cart rentals continue and are cleaned and sanitized between rentals.
We are taking the recommended precautions from the CDC to clean and maintain these facilities as we work to protect our guests and staff.
Museums
Park museums are open with limited hours and occupancy. Visitors must wear a cloth face-covering or mask when inside public buildings.

DeGray Lake Resort State Park – Lodge rooms and YURTs are managed to allow a rest period in between guests for thorough cleanings. All guests must wear a cloth face-covering or mask when inside all public buildings. Visitor Center, Marina, and Gift Shops are open with limited access and hours. The restaurant is open with limited access and hours. Guests must wear a cloth face-covering or mask until served. Golf course and pro shop are open. Day use areas* are open. Camping is open. Trails are open. Arkansas Riding Stables open May 23. Rides start on the hour daily at 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. Please call 501-538-8385 to make a reservation, so they know you are coming. Due to COVID-19, hours of operation could change, so it’s important to make a reservation. As usual, helmets are sanitized between uses and physical distancing between horses is practiced on rides.

Mount Magazine State Park's restaurant is open with limited seating and face coverings must be worn until served. The Gift Shop is open with limited capacity and hours. Trails are open, day-use areas are open. Camping is open and guests may check-in if needed at the lodge.
Mount Nebo State Park – Visitor Center is open with limited capacity and hours. Cabins are managed to allow a rest period in between guests for thorough cleanings. Day use areas* are open, trails are open, Cornwell House is closed, Outdoor exhibits available. Camping is open.
Ozark Folk Center State Park – The Craft Village, Ozark Highlands Theater, and Skillet Restaurant are closed until April 2021 when the new season opens. There are Craft Classes offered during the off-season by registration only. The Cabins at Dry Creek are open year-round. The administration building is open for park business with limited capacity and hours.
Parkin Archeological State Park – Visitor Center is open with limited capacity and hours, trail access only, Day use areas* are open.
Petit Jean State Park – Lodge and Cabins are managed to allow a rest period in between guests for thorough cleanings. The Restaurant at Mather Lodge is open at 50% occupancy with a limited menu. Petit Jean State Park remains open to the public including the campgrounds, Mather Lodge and Petit Jean Cabins. Visitor Center and Gift Shop are open with limited capacity and hours. Day-use areas are open. Cedar Falls Trail is closed due to storm damage. Other trails are open. Camping is open.
Pinnacle Mountain State Park – Visitor Center opened with limited capacity and hours, Stuckey Field is closed, boat rentals are available. Day-use areas open*. Visitors must use designated parking spaces and cannot park on the side of the road in the grass or may be towed or ticketed. Physical distancing must be practiced so we can keep these areas open.
Plantation Agriculture State Park – Museum is open with limited capacity and hours, Outdoor exhibit open, Day use areas* are open
Poison Springs Battlefield State Park – Open

What are Arkansas State Parks doing to control COVID-19?
Maintaining safe and sanitary facilities within Arkansas State Parks has always been a top priority, but with the outbreak of COVID-19 in Arkansas, thorough cleaning is paramount. ASP staff are directed to follow CDC-approved cleaning procedures. Our protocol includes the following:
- Increased frequency for cleaning and disinfection of facilities including daily sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, and other high traffic areas.
- Access to handwashing facilities and hand sanitizers for employees and the public.
- Engage in rigorous cleaning of public overnight facilities in accordance with CDC guidelines.
