Greetings from the Crater of Diamonds State Park! While diamonds come in all colors of the rainbow, diamonds found at the Crater of Diamonds are white, brown, or yellow. More than 60% of Crater diamonds are white, 20% are brown and less than 20% are yellow. A diamond’s color is influenced by its journey from deep within the earth to the surface.

Seth and Jessica Erickson, of Chatfield, MN, recently embarked on an 11-state road trip for their tenth anniversary. Having first heard about Arkansas’s Crater of Diamonds State Park years ago, they planned a special stop at America’s only public diamond mine along the way. On the morning of their visit, the couple found a brown diamond weighing nearly two carats.
