Forge Fest began in 1992 as well but was originally called Blacksmithing Day. In 2000, the name was changed to attract attention. The March event features blacksmiths at their forges demonstrating the art of old time metal working. Over the years blacksmith have shown visitors how a simple coal fire, blower and anvil can be used to do everything from making nails to forging knife blades. Guest blacksmiths have included Rex Harrel of Wilborn, AR, John Fitch (ABA Master Bladesmith), Billy Nations and Billy Hicks of Historic Washington State Park and many others from Arkansas.
