Tuesday - A 3" water line bringing water into the Mary Woods No. 2 cooling system froze and later ruptured as it began to thaw, allowing the boat to take on water. Park officials boarded the ship and removed documents and small artifacts. By Friday she had settled to the bottom of the 12’ channel with 100 tons of water in her hull. The stern-wheeler reopened in the spring after being raised and cleaned. Source: Historic Structure Report The Mary Woods No.2, SCM, August 4, 2000
