Winter Workshop Series: Hiking 101 - Winter Edition

Join park staff for a special hiking 101 course. This course will include a hike along the park's Boy Scout Trail. While we won’t complete the full trail, we will hike about 7 miles of it. This is a long and strenuous hike that will take us about 6 hours to complete. Along the way, we will stop and talk about best practices while hiking during the winter time at Petit Jean State Park. We will meet at the breezeway of Mather Lodge at 9 a.m. Come prepared with good hiking boots, hiking sticks, water, and a backpack. We should be back to Mather Lodge around 3 p.m. that afternoon. This program is free, but sign up is required by the Wednesday before the event by calling the visitor center at 501-727-5441 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m..
