Tinker Time-Jitterbots

Meeting Place: Museum

Racers, start your Jitter Bots! What's a Jitter Bot you ask? It’s a robot of your own creation. These contraptions use a vibrating or offset motor to move around in unpredictable ways. Making a Jitter Bot is a fun way to learn the basics of creating a simple circuit with a switch. The best part of making these bots is that you can use re-purposed and recycled materials. Once you learn the build concepts, you can experiment with different designs. Every change to your Bot will make it move at a different speed and in different patterns. Participants will experiment with a variety of variables, such as different types of materials for the base, changing the speed of the motor or different weights of attachments on the Bot. After all Jitter Bots are completed, a magnificent race will take place to see which one can cross the finish line first.
