Presentations will include: online resources for Cherokee research, as well as how to use those websites, how to start out when researching a Cherokee ancestor, and what resources are available for that research, learning about other repositories and depositories where someone can do research on a Cherokee ancestor which includes public libraries, state archives, and historical societies, learn about the 13 detachments on the Cherokee removal (180 years since the first detachment left in August 1838) and how to use newspapers to do research in regards to the early educational system in the Cherokee Nation and how many historical events made the news. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and sessions begin at 9 a.m. Lunch is on your own. The workshop will end at 3:30 p.m. with door prize drawings.
