Meeting Place: Museum Lobby
The Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources tells the story of the discovery of oil in the 1920s, but also focuses on important events that affected the people of south Arkansas during that time. Come to the museum and get a glimpse of how history has repeated itself through past and present pandemics. Visitors will view a panel and table display of worldwide pandemics along with state and local history that includes the recollections of a local south Arkansas resident, who lived during the 1918 flu pandemic. There are lessons never to be forgotten because history sometimes has a way of repeating itself.
