Meeting Place: Visitor Center

What is a Hot Spot? The specific week-long Leave No Trace Hot Spot training, conducted by expert Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling trainers, includes special events and programs that raise awareness about preserving and protecting our favorite public lands. These events include trainings, clean up events, and school programs. With nearly 200 nationwide nominations, Cossatot River State Park – Natural Area is honored to have been selected as one of just 20 Hot Spots taking place in 2018. The National Wild and Scenic Cossatot River is a unique environment that many people enjoy and treasure; but, high visitation may be leaving impacts that you are not aware of. Join park interpreters and Leave No Trace trainers to identify ways that you can help care for the unique treasure that is the Cossatot River. Each person’s participation in this Hot Spot could help preserve and protect the Cossatot River, the park’s unique plants and animals and the recreation areas that everyone enjoys. Please contact the park for further details by calling (870) 385-2201.
