The Audobon Society describes the Backyard Bird Count as "a free, fun, and easy event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations." Participants are asked to count birds for as little as 15 minutes (or as long as they wish) on one or more days of the four-day event. Cane Creek State Park will be holding multiple events to get birders of all ages and skill levels outside and looking for birds! Pick up your free birding packet from the park's front desk any time during the entire week and start your birding adventure! Park staff will be accepting your reporting sheets, but feel free to report your bird counts yourself at : http://www.birdcount.org/ .
