Meeting Place: Lakeview Room
9:00 am - 4:00 pm
The 1800s brought many immigrants to the river valley; these pioneers had to learn to live off the land. Some of these early inhabitants were the Cherokee who lived in this area and those that moved through during the Trail of Tears. Join a park interpreter in the Lakeview Room and learn to weave a Cherokee style double wall basket. This will be a hands-on program with limited space (preregistration is required). The registration fee is $40. Come prepared to get a little wet and watch your basket take shape before your eyes.
