6th Annual 19th Century Herbal Medicine Workshop: Lotions, Potions, and Tinctures, Oh My!

"Lotions, Potions, and Tinctures, Oh My!” is a workshop in which participants explore common 19th century remedies and medicinals that were available locally and compounded in the home. Each participant will begin preparation of the herbal tincture of your choice. Three different remedies will be compounded with a sample of each one available to take home with you. This is a hands-on experience, so come prepared to slice, dice, stir, and make these remedies using authentic 19th century formulas taken from the original publications.

Advance registration is required. Registration must be received no later than 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 20. Lunch is on your own; there are several eating places just 4 miles away in Newport. Participants must be 18 years and older.
