Learn about the history of the spring waters and how it created a community gathering space for over 100 years. The Longino, Goode and Lyle families created this area in the 1890's. Later in the 1930's they leased the land to the Boy Scouts for their summer camp. The Scouts took the first two letters from the families' names and created the name Logoly (Low-go-lie) in their honor.

Among the exhibits in the visitor center is an active bee hive. You can observe bees going in and out, watch the 'honey dance,' try to find the queen and enjoy the interesting lives of honeybees in this working hive.

This trail follows and crosses Spring Branch Creek and meanders through the bottomland. Experience the gentle, rolling landscape of the Gulf Coastal Plain region and see with ferns, rattan and muscadine vines, tall pines, large beech trees and other sources of wildlife food.
