Courthouse Museum Tour
Dates/Times: Courthouse Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. including all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.
Fees: Museum admission: $3.25 adults, $1.75 children ages 6-12

Tour a restored 1870's Arkansas courthouse, where you can experience the thrill of standing in a 19th-century courtroom. Visit the clerk's office to discover how court business affected the everyday lives of Jackson county residents. Through courthouse exhibits, relive the Civil War in Jacksonport and lifestyle of a once prosperous steam boat town. More exhibits include the human drama of other uses of the courthouse, such as a county poor house after the removal of the county seat to Newport, Arkansas.

Arkansas State Parks

Mary Woods No. 2 Riverboat
Dates/Times: The boat is open for tours Sundays 1-5 p.m., Tuesdays-Thursdays 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Fridays-Saturdays 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The Mary Woods No. 2 is closed from November 1-March 31.
Fees: Museum admission: $3.25 adults, $1.75 children ages 6-12
Self-Guided: No

Explore Arkansas River transportation history by touring the sternwheel riverboat, the Mary Woods No. 2. The 1930's paddleboat transported barges of lumber for the Woods Lumber Company on the White, Mississippi and Cache Rivers. Experience the lives of the crew and captain as they lived and worked on the boat. You can check out the bird's eye view from the pilot house and stand beside the powerful twin D364's catepillar engines in the engine room.

Remember the Maine!: Life in the 2nd Arkansas Volunteer Regiment
Dates/Times: The exhibit is open Tuesday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. including all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.
Fees: Museum admission: $3.25 adults, $1.75 children ages 6-12
Self-Guided: Yes

Come see the Spanish American War through the eyes of Jackson County soldiers. Learn who these men were and how they drilled, ate, and lived in military training camps where most soldiers stayed during this “splendid little war.” The exhibit includes uniforms, military memorabilia, and three recently conserved 2nd Arkansas Volunteer regimental flags.

White River Pearling and Shelling
Dates/Times: Courthouse Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m.
Fees: Museum admission: $3.25 adults, $1.75 children ages 6-12

Discover the fascinating world of White River Pearling as the residents of Jacksonport experienced at the turn of the 20th century. See homemade diving helmets, rakes, net bags and other equipment used to harvest freshwater pearls. Shell buttons, button blanks, and a button machine tell the story of button-making from start to finish. The most coveted prize of pearling--perfectly-shaped fresh water pearls--are on display in the exhibit.
