WESTROCK COFFEE OF NORTH LITTLE ROCK PACKAGES A SPECIAL MEDIUM/ DARK ROAST BLEND OF PREMIUM RWANDAN COFFEE FOR ARKANSAS STATE PARKS

[LITTLE ROCK, Ark.]—Coffees from Rwanda have been receiving the attention of coffee drinkers and winning awards around the world. Over the past several years, Rwanda has evolved from an unknown in the specialty coffee industry to a producer of some of the finest coffees in East Africa. Rwanda’s high altitude, volcanic soil, abundant sunshine, and equatorial mist combine to offer ideal coffee growing conditions. According to State Parks Director Greg Butts, Arkansas State Parks is now featuring premium Rwandan coffee, roasted locally by Westrock Coffee in North Little Rock, at all park restaurants and for in-room coffee service for overnight guests in lodge rooms and cabins. This coffee blend, named “A Taste for Adventure,” is also available for purchase in some state park gift shops. Butts said, “This is a special, Arabica Rwandan medium/dark roast blend that Westrock Coffee packages exclusively for Arkansas State Parks. This partnership with Westrock Coffee allows us to go exclusively to this high quality product throughout the park system.”

Butts noted that in addition to providing premium coffee for park visitors, this partnership also supports an Arkansas company and Rwanda’s efforts in creating sustainable environments for growing coffee. In many cases, this is the sole revenue generating commodity for rural families in Rwanda.” He continued, “The emergence of Rwandan specialty coffee on the global market is exciting, and we are pleased to now offer an exclusive blend packaged by an Arkansas company for Arkansas State Parks to our park visitors and overnight guests.”
