Lake Ouachita State Park Offers Umbrella Rig Workshop

We have all heard amazing fish tales about the one that got away. Have you ever heard stories about catching two fish at once? With the umbrella rig, it’s possible. What are these popular new fishing gadgets? How do they work? What can I catch? Well, here’s your chance to find out all about the umbrella rig, also known as an Alabama rig. Join us for a workshop to make your own custom umbrella rig while learning how to use them on Lake Ouachita. This two-hour workshop is packed with helpful tips and tricks the locals use to catch bass and striper. All supplies are provided and baits and lures will be available for purchase to outfit your rig. By the end of class, you will be ready to try your luck and maybe even have your own fish tale to share.

The workshop begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at noon on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Lake Ouachita State Park’s Visitor Center. The fee for the workshop is $10. Space is limited, so reservations are required. For more information or to hold your space, please call the park at 501-767-9366.
