Have you purchased a map and compass, but were unsure of how to properly use one?  Knowing how to properly use a map and compass may just save your life.  As part of the Pinnacle Mountain Summer Workshop Series, Park Interpreter Richard will be showing the basics of how to use a map and compass.  Afterwards, we will be going out on the orienteering course to practice using a compass in the field.  This workshop will start an hour earlier than others in the series - at 5 p.m.  Be sure to bring plenty of water and sturdy shoes.  Program is open to all ages, but is better suited for people ages 18 and over.  Program is free, but pre-registration is required.
