Cemetery Monument Preservation Workshop Historic Washington State Park

Meeting Place: 1874 Courthouse Visitor Center

Randy Smith, National Register of Historic Places - Fairview Cemetery's preservation project director, will lead a workshop on proper conservation and preservation techniques of monuments and tombstones to be held at Historic Washington State Park Pioneer Cemetery. This is a "hands on" project in which you will learn by helping to conservation clean targeted tombstones. Wear old clothing, sun block, and insect repellant is recommended. Gloves and bottled water provided. All materials are included in the registration fee. Learn how to clean a headstone, what chemicals to use, and what not to do. Maximum number of participants is 16. Please call (870) 983-2684 to register.
