Noon Storytelling:  Smitty the Cowboy Poet – Cowboys were drawn to the Ozarks in the early 1900’s by cheap land, low taxes, abundant water and good grass.  When they arrived, they found their neighbors had a rich tradition of songs or “ballads”, similar to their cowboy songs and poetry from the West.  Famous cowboy poets such a Jim McElroy, Hubb Willis and Glenn Ohrlin have called the Stone County area home.  Smitty follows this tradition with his original tales of current cowboy life that have won many awards and lots of guffaws.

Young Pioneers for children ages 7-14 at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m.

Next evening Music program November 28th with Pam Setser and Joanie Bishop
