Escape the heat with a mountain get away! Afternoon high temperatures on Mount Magazine average 10 degrees cooler than the temperature in surrounding areas.
Wildflowers are blooming everywhere. Crown vetch, the light pink bloom found along roadsides and sidewalks, has been a recent favorite of visitors.Coneflowers attract butterflies to the trail sides while bluebirds, phoebes and swallows serenade guests in rocking chairs on the lodge patio. Summer time doesn't have to mean staying under the air conditioner and missing out on these sights. Visit Mount Magazine State Park and enjoy the outdoors without the heat!
Did you miss the Butterfly Festival this year? Have your own pollinator celebration with our Butterflies & Blooms package plan! You can also save the date for next year. Mount Magazine State Park's Butterfly Festival will be June 26 & 27, 2015.
