Fall is here, with a slight chill in the air.
Bright, late blooming wildflowers can be seen along trails and roads, such as goldenrod, asters,and ironweed. A few leaves are already showing hints of yellow and reds. Papaws and muscadines are ripe, serving as a tasty addition to the early fall color. Word has spread about Mount Magazine State Park fall beauty. The park was recently included in a list of ten of "America's Best Fall Foliage" spots, on Yahoo! Travel. The migration watches were eventful this September. Several large groups of birds passed through the area and many more on their own.
The totals included: a variety of songbirds, 3 great blue herons, 1 osprey, 5 bald eagles, 2 northern harriers, 17 sharp-shinned hawks, 6 Cooper’s hawks, 596 broad-winged hawks, 3 red-tailed hawks, 2 kestrels, and 1 peregrine falcon. Only two monarch butterflies were spotted; their world population is at an all time low.

Arkansas Wine Country Tours
Spend a day enjoying Arkansas's Wine Country with winery tour from Mount Magazine State Park.
Swiss and Italian settlers instantly recognized that the Arkansas River Valley was perfect for growing grapes and producing award-winning wines. Through the years, various wineries have made their home in areas surrounding Altus, Arkansas.
Join us for a guided tour into Arkansas wine country. Travel by van to visit local wine cellars and sample a variety of wines. Enjoy lunch on your own in one of the local restaurants. Admission is $15 per person. Advance sign up is strongly encouraged as the tour space is limited and usually fills up quickly.

Updated Menu Features a New Dessert
Imagine the dreamy taste of a chocolate cloud, drizzled with raspberry and kissed with mint. Now open your eyes, wipe that speck of drool off your mouth, and come taste the real thing! White Cloud Chocolate Mousse is Mount Magazine's new signature dessert.
Guests who attended our Saxophone & Sweets event may remember this decadent dessert featured on that night's buffet of miniature sweets. It was a very popular item, with many compliments. Taking that into consideration, it was made a permanent offering during recent menu changes. Servings come beautifully garnished with raspberries and sauce in a decorative glass giving it giving it an air of romance.

Friday Night Surf & Turf
Come in Friday nights for shrimp, catfish, prime rib, and all the fixings on our Surf & Turf Buffet. The adult buffet price is $19.95. The buffet begins at 5 p.m. and goes until close.
Restaurant hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
